Some people opt-in to itemized their tax deductions so they can take advantage of the amount they can save. For sex workers such as adult content creators and porn stars, the list might look like a little naughtier compared to workers who are not in the same trade.

In an article published by Daily Beast, adult entertainers often rely on tax professionals for clarification according to Christopher Kirk, a tax attorney. Kirk founded Safeword Tax Service which predominantly services sex workers and adult entertainers when it comes to their tax concerns.

Sex Toys
These toys are sex workers’ essentials.

Tax preparers like Kirk has definitely seen most of his clients’ tax deductions list and he revealed some items that go into the calculation they submit along with the 1040 form.

Kirk explains that since regular HIV/STD tests are required of porn stars every two weeks, it should be a business expense. “I take the position that it’s a business expense, especially when you look at porn performers. It’s a condition,”.

Buttplug
That buttplug can be written off on their taxes too.

He also said that the cost of condoms and lubes should be deductible too.

If the escort is touring from city to city and he pays for the hotel, these expenses that were spent are tax deductions too.

Not just that, he’s also listed devices most BDSM workers use as deductibles because he considers these things “ordinary and necessary business expenses for engaging in operation”. These include gag balls, floggers, buttplugs, whips, etc.
