Several Attendees of Winter Party Festival Tested Positive for COVID-19!

The Winter Party Festival still happened earlier this month but sadly, this year’s Miami event will be remembered for another reason.

The iconic week-long festival still pushed through despite the dangers of holding events involving large crowds. It ran from March 4 to 10.

The organizers made sure that preventive measures were observed during the festival in accordance to health guidelines available during that time. They did this by handing out hand sanitizers and displaying info-graphic posters at the event. The beach fixture seemed to be a success until this news:

Approximately 10,000 attendees flocked to the event throughout that week before a surge of event cancellations occurred globally. This has caused for an undisclosed number of people who were at the event to test positive for COVID-19 according to Rea Carey, the executive director of the National LGBTQ Task Force.

It was also reported that no one felt any symptoms during the festival though everyone who attended the event are being asked to observe themselves for the novel corona virus has an incubation period between 1-14 days after contracting it.

Carey also brought up the difficulty for majority of citizens to have themselves tested. She added “We are monitoring the situation, but the real story here is that millions of people across the country would like to get tested, and the government has not done its job to make testing available”.
