Agreed, it has definitely climbed in readers and fans. I attribute most of that to QC's continued effort to improve the site and quality our readers expect. I love meeting the actors/stars/celebrities, but also I have a strong love for my Doc. Feel column readers.
How many messages do you receive on average from QC readers? Do you really get a chance to answer every email that is sent to you?
I do, sometimes it takes me two weeks, but I keep the answers running in a programed order. I generally get between 150-270 letters every two weeks.
Do you have any particular stories or people you have helped through the Doc.Feel column that stand out to you as highlights?
Definitely. Recently, I helped a young man relocate to safety from an abusive boyfriend. He had to move 3 states away with lots of Social Service intervention. I stayed up well into the night orchestrating it and he has begun a new life. I also recently had a Doc.Feel fan send me an Amazon credit which was donated to a youth GLBT charity. Most of my readers are just like everyone else. People in need of a reality check, listening ear or directed service(s). The night I helped the young man, I was exhausted and felt very rewarded afterward knowing he was safe.
I bet you did. That is amazing. If that young man is reading this, I hope you are doing well and are safe in your new location! It's great to know that QC is able to not only keep us entertained, but can extend out and help those fans who are in need of help.

I am fortunate, I have several friends that are throughout the Psychological and Psychiatric communities. I also happen to be dating a professional in Law Enforcement who has been a rock to me. I have a great family and my best friends know my life and we share everything. My sons and best friend Anthony keep me on my toes and in a "happy place."

We're old, but still new in the relationship...lol. It hasn't been long and yet seems like it's been a lifetime match. Love is never an easy journey. Life changes on a dime and we have to flow with it or get torn on the jagged edges. Communication is most important in a relationship and that isn't always easy. We all have our flaws and issues, but the happiness comes from loving all those aspects about your partner and not just the "good bits." My secret happens to be that I have never felt as important, loved and beautiful as I do through his eyes. His vision of me is more beautiful than any negative I could ever have about myself. Wow, there are so many... Let me think. Well… Three of my dreams just came true this week thanks to a fabulous connection I made through Sebastian River's agent. I guess my dream interview would have to be Jeff Stryker. I, of course, dream of an evening spent interviewing ChiChi, Doug Jeffries and Michael Lucas all in one room at once...lol. I get the amazing opportunity to go to Washington DC and interview Michael Lucas and Chad Hunt in December, so that will be a holiday gift in itself.... I have interviewed the amazing celebrity of Matt Rush, Johnny Hazzard, Sebastian Rivers, Ken Mack, Corbin Fisher and his men. I am working on projects/interviews with Tag Adams, Mick Powers, Peter Berlin, Eddie Stone and Howard from FabScouts. All these men are wonderful about welcoming me in and talking and sharing their lives. They also help me get other interviews and for that, I could never thank them enough. Several of which have become good friends. The adult entertainment industry is a tough one and yet, there is this natural fraternity of men that are helpful and willing to share.
Recently you went on a QC whitewater rafting trip. It sounds like you had a blast! Anymore trips or vacations like that planned for the future?
Yes, as I stated earlier, I will be doing a QC trip to DC very soon and that trip will also involve a trip to NYC and in February I have a very special trip planned to California for a few weeks. Plus things are always popping up and when they do, I hop on a plane, train or automobile and I'm there...lol
I bet a lot of those QC fans out there that work boring 9-5 jobs (like me) wish they could just hop on a plane and fly to places and interview hot men! What a great job you have.
It isn't all glamour, remember what industry I'm working in. It has it's moments, but I also have a family and life at home so it's all about prioritizing and an amazing data planner. You're part of a great online community at QC, but do you get involved with your real local community? Are you involved with any community service groups of initiatives in your area?
I am fully involved with HRC (Human Rights Campaign), and GLBT Youth. I am working on a book co-authoring Domestic Violence within the GLBT community.
Definitely a topic worth covering, and one that may hit home with many QC readers. What can they expect from this book?
The book covers the last 20 yrs of the GLBT community and how and why Domestic Violence is on an upsurge. It relays the stories of many couples and victims and even abusers who have been in the middle of a fist. Our community, the GLBT Community, faces enormous stresses that lead to many bad choices and decisions that often end in violence.
Thanks for taking time to write such a book. Now let's take it back a few years in the history of you Doc.Feel. Who is the first guy that you can remember having emotional, romantic feelings for?

Chad: Thanks for interviewing me! This is my fifth year with the group. I joined in late 2001 and from the get-go, I volunteered my skills as a graphic designer. Over the years, the group's director, Kevin, delegated more and more of the advertising and marketing materials to me. Last year, Kevin started to bounce more ideas off of me, and I stepped up my responsibilities. It was around that time that he crowned me the "Communications Director." My first order of business was to redesign the website. After months of organizing and developing, we finally launched the new site this past June. Most of the credit goes to my college friend John for all his hard work. This year we also decided to produce another calendar, the group's third. I volunteered to design it, as well as shoot the video for the DVD. I'd never done anything like that before and found it was quite a challenging project. But I'm thrilled with the results. You're originally from Florida, that is a big difference from DC. What are the biggest differences in culture and lifestyle?
Chad: Well, I grew up in a small town in Florida and knew that I wanted to live in a big city after college. I've been in DC for almost 10 years now and really consider it my home. I would say the differences I notice are not just based in locale but also with where I am in my life.... I'm not that wide-eyed 20-something any more. DF: At your maturity, you put most 20 year olds to shame. Where do you get all the energy?

I have many, many goals and am constantly trying new things. All this combined with trying to keep a social life, working a full time job in Boston and fulfilling my contractual obligations in LA keep me going to say the least.
DF: Johnny, I have to talk about the dancing videos. I personally love them. I am not a huge dancer, but watching you have so much fun while dancing makes me happy and actually makes me want to get up and dance. What inspired the dance video ideas?
Johnny:
The first one was Spellbound
and it was born out of a need for content for my blog and a little free time on a rainy afternoon in San Francisco. The second one, Moving Into Light, was also something rather unplanned. We were in LA, BW and I, hoping to record a video for another song which sort of bottomed out. We decided that a little “juice” was in order to recharge our spirits; we turned on a favorite song of ours, kept the camera rolling and voila! Our best ideas come when we least expect them.
DF: What is a typical day like for Johnny Hazzard?

I am up rather early and start out my day with a cup of steamed broccoli, fruit and a protein shake. If I have to work it will be soon there after and if not then I am working on my clothing line.

Full of love and attention. Family members were around all the time with tons of support. We were always hanging out with family and because of that I have a strong sense of family and friends that sticks with me today.
DF: Are you close with your family and do they know about your career?
Johnny:
I am very close with my family; especially my mother and yes, everybody knows. They might not say a whole lot about it or ask questions, but they know.
DF: Have you ever been recognized by the public, on the street? What was that like?
Johnny:
All the time; it’s par for the course. It was odd at first and can sometimes be a little intrusive depending on the scene, but all in all, it’s part of the deal.
DF: What is the most fun you have ever had on a set and why?
Johnny:
Working with Zak Spears because he was a dream of mine and I find him to be absolutely physically perfect.

Being late.
DF: Do you see any important trends in the industry of porn?

I see that porn is not so taboo any more. It is being assimilated in the industry of entertainment as far as I’m concerned.

My perspective on the industry is not typical. I hear horror stories all the time and have thankfully never encountered anything even remotely close to any of that. It sounds like a suck-up, but I wouldn’t trade what I have with Rascal for anything.

As our community receives more attention and recognition, both positive and negative, it opens some doors and closes others. Being gay used to mean discarding all conventions because none of them applied to you and that isn’t true anymore. There’s a whole new generation of gay people out there that walked out of the closet because the door was thrown open by those that went before them. We aren’t confined to back alleys and adult bookstores now and that exposure has allowed the gay community to expand and sometimes even fracture. Our minority is unique in that it encompasses every other minority. I think we’ve made tremendous progress in the past thirty years and I’m confident that trend will continue as long as we all stick together.
DF: What are some of your favorite online sites?

I adore the cuteness of Lance and Reichen and their relationship, but I have to ask this in the most cordial way I can think of : WHAT THE HELL IS THE HRC THINKING?

What is your definition of “visibility award?” What defines them as winners, achievers, service members, dedicated to HRC and most importantly worthy of this award and recognition? Why did the HRC Board find it unnecessary to contact or ask any of us who are large contributors about this? When did the HRC become Entertainment Tonight, The View or MTV’s Sweet Sixteen?
Show me their “activism”, “service”, “achievement” and/or “dedication” that has directly contributed to the standards set forth by the HRC and I will gladly shut up. I will gladly stand and clap for them. Until then, you need to explain to me, every other member of HRC and most importantly the world why you find an “outed” boy band member and his eye candy to be the definition of “visibility.”
This move clearly shows that the HRC is NOT recognizing GLBT activism, achievement and service, but instead awarding a GLAM couple outed by the NY Post and thrust into the limelight of popularity by gay blogosphere. If this advances the cause of HRC, then maybe you should next be calling John Paulus for an HRC Ass Award for his Claymation moment? I mean, come on!!! This is too absurd to be laughable even.
