Austin St. John vs. Brock

There's been much speculation going around in cyberland that Austin St. John who acted as the Red Power Ranger is actually Brock of SeanCody.com. Judging from the number of emails we received from our faithful and very sexcited readers, we know we have got to share this Split Identity case with the rest of the world!

Austin St. John is an American actor best known for his role in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers as Jason Lee Scott aka the Red Ranger. Austin left the show after one season, and was replaced by Steve Cardenas (Thuy Trang and Walter Emmanuel Jones left the show along with him). He later returned for a while as the Gold Ranger in Power Rangers: Zeo for a short time, and also in Turbo: A Power Rangers Movie (along with Amy Jo Johnson). It was Cardenas, not St. John, who played the role of the Red Ranger in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie. Austin St. John returned to the Power Rangers several years later (in Power Rangers: Wild Force) to reprise his role in the episode Forever Red. He also appeared in the 1998 film Expose, which flopped at the box office.

St. John is of German, Native American, Irish, Japanese, Italian, and Spanish descent. He's believed to have been enrolled as a student at Frost Middle School in Fairfax, Virginia and briefly attended W.T. Woodson under the name of Jason Geiger.

After leaving his acting career, people said he became a paramedic, and there were others who said he worked at Gold's Gym In Herndon, Virginia as a personal trainer. On SeanCody.com (there are 3 videos of Brock in all: one solo, one BJ, one JO Contest), Brock has been described as a personal trainer and the manager of a gym. Seems congruent so far.

In addition, there were supposedly a couple of sites that claimed that Austin had moved on to being a gay porn star! One site claimed that the movie he was in was called "LAGUNA BEACH: A LOVE AFFAIR", and he used the porno name "Jason Cutler" (compare this to "Jason Geiger" he used as a student). It also mentioned that the back of the box to the video promotes Jason Cutler as once having played the Red Power Ranger for MMPR. These are of course unconfirmed rumours.

So is Austin Brock?

After some research and QueerClickClucking around, we reckon it's more a Dead Ringer case than a Split Identity. Brock is a few sizes bigger than Austin and it makes comparison difficult. But we know there are a few tricks the customs and immigration use to identify people against their passport photos - and one of them is to compare the ears! Here, we take a closer look at Brock and Austin's ears and nose.

Visually, they appear to be different. What do you guys think? Yay or Nay?

According to IMDB, Austin is slated to return on the small screen in "Power Rangers Mystic Force". The TV series is currently under production. Guess we'll know in due time if the new Austin (his last appearance on screen was in 2003 in Footsteps as a police investigator) looks exactly like the current Brock.

I'm probably gonna get bashed for this but I really didn't care for any of his SC videos so hopefully that will be the end of him as a gay porn star.

LOL I remember him. Loved him. But sorry guys. Last year I found out he lives in Southern California deep in the valley teaching martial arts with none other than the Green/White Ranger (Tommy) from the same season.

He also does stunt work and training for the movie industry.

the assumption here is that people want them to be the same guy. the reality is wouldn't it be better if they were two guys, thus allowing the at least 1 in a million possibility of a near identical twin (or before/after muscle makeover) three way?

Interestingly enough, another MMPR is from the environs of Fairfax, VA. Archie Kao went to undergrad at George Mason Univ. where he was student body president in 1991 (if memory serves)... And what a body. :) Straight as an arrow, though... :(

These postings are pretty funny, but it's pretty clearly not the same guy after you look at their faces closely. Furthermore, IMDB lists the actor as 5'8"! 'Roids may make your muscles big, but it can't make you taller...

Great post QC! Yeah sure theres been a lot of rumors going around the net whether Austin St John is Brock or not and I would say this is very conclusive. Im sure there a probably quite a few people who are disappointed at that, but still think its cool that people want to make a connection and then it can be shown here, that although there are some initial similarities that they really cant both be the same person. Anyway I think both of em ROCK!

The ear looks particularly convincing, but I wish there were higher resolution pics of Austin to be sure... Like you said, Austin's appearances on Mystic Force will likely shed some light on the issue.

to tell you one thing brock does not even look like jason. there face is not the same. and there nose is so wrong. like brock does not have a point at his nose and jason has a point at his nose. and the ears are not the same. so why say that brock and jason are you same guy. it really does not look like they are the same guy. but if they are sorry about what i said brock. i use to watch the old power ranger all the time untill it got kicked off the air.

if u people havent used common knowledge then, *shakes head* when people take steroids or just plain out get fat, everything about them changes. Have we seen half the celebs out there get enormous and not even look like them! So dont dismiss the fact that they dont look perfect!

whoa. i cant belive that the best red power rnagers of all time is a gay porn star. why would austin do such a thing. it sucks to know that he was the hero of many little kids. i remember kids saying how jason is the bast, or how "im the red rangers, he's the best." well now that i know this, its sad. but hey its his life, not mine. i even think he'll be more popluar in being a power ranger than being a porn star. it sucks, and ill never see him the same

Browse the gallery. The most recent picture is in the "Forever Red" section and he seems to have bulked up a bit if you look at him - but still, there is no resemblance to Brock from Sean Cody.

Honestly, at first I thought Brock was Austin St. John, but after these ear and nose comparisons, I am convinced that Austin is not a gay porn star. I still find him incredibly attractive, though - I thought he was gorgeous... and I was only 6 or 7 at the time!
